HOT Suzuki Alto

Suzuki Alto

To develop and manufacture this model, Suzuki has signed a deal with Nissan in 2005, but Suzuki did all the development of the car (all technological solutions are of Suzuki and Nissan only participated in the design of its aesthetics).

Differences between the Suzuki Alto and Nissan Pixo focus on the design of the bumpers (front and rear), headlights, alloy wheels, interior upholstery and logically the anagrams that differentiate both brands.

The Suzuki Alto has a total length of 3,500 mm, a width of 1,600 mm, a height of 1,470 mm, a wheelbase of 2,360 mm, a gauge of 1,405 mm front, a rear track of 1,400 mm and a ground clearance of 150 mm.

The body (only available in five-door) CX has a drag coefficient of just 0.30. You can choose between three colors, according to Suzuki, they are inspired by nature: Rosa Fortuna Pearl Metallic (inspired by roses), Paradise Blue Pearl Metallic (inspired by the sea) and Desert Brown Metallic (inspired by the earth).

Inside
The Suzuki Alto has a four-seat cabin. The front seats have integrated head restraints (the structure is the same as the seats of the Suzuki Swift and SX4). They have a sliding range of 240 mm (10 mm increase). The driver's seat comes with height adjustment.

All seats are based on two-tone upholstery and black bear a motif of silver foliage. The fabric on the backs of the front seats has a touch of color is pink or silver depending on body color.

The side anchors for safety belts front and rear are incorporated into the central pillar.

The instrument panel is easy. The speedometer is large, single-clock and incorporates a liquid crystal display with speedometer, fuel gauge and clock. Depending on versions, the counter is anchored independently to the left of the visor which houses the speedometer (it's a design similar to that presented in other models like the MINI or the Renault Twingo).

The air conditioning controls, sound equipment, emergency lighting and power supply are located in the center console.

The central pillar also incorporates a radio-CD (is an integrated team and has been specially designed for the Suzuki Alto. Plays MP3/WMA and may, with the help of an exclusive kit Suzuki, connect to an iPod. The sound comes out through six speakers (four speakers of 16 cm located one on each door and two tweeters in the instrument panel).

To combine with the design and colors of the instrument panel, upholstery of the front doors is two-tone (dark gray) with silver plastic inserts.

Storage compartments
There are compartments for small items scattered throughout the cabin. Each front door has a pocket depth of 300 mm and an aperture of 240 mm x 20 mm (large enough for a road map of A4). In the instrument panel cupholders are two holes (both include a bottle of 500ml or one can), a pocket ideal for bags, hats, maps and objects of similar size, a lower drawer where you can save five compact discs , and a lighted tray is perfect for an iPod, a camera or card. Each rear door has a pocket that incorporates a hollow in which it is a bottle of 500 ml.

Despite the compact exterior dimensions of the Suzuki Alto, has a storage space behind the rear seats (129 liters-VDA). Folding down the rear seats that space becomes a huge trunk virtually flat floor and a capacity of 367 liters-VDA. The rear seats can be folded in one motion and even with front seats in the rearmost position, there is no need to remove the headrests. 50-50 swoop greater flexibility in the cargo area. It is bringing a tray covering the trunk and hide objects that are in it, to prevent theft.

Engine and transmission
The Suzuki Alto features a 1.0L petrol engine and three-cylinder shared with the Splash. Block is a lightweight and compact with low friction. Its maximum output is 68 hp and 90 Nm torque. Fuel consumption is very low, 4.4L/100km and CO2 emissions are only 103g/km (meets Euro 5 emissions). The transmission is equipped as standard five-speed manual as an option can mount an automatic four with gate-type shifter.

Comparing the High with the Hyundai i10, Citroen, Toyota Aygo, Peugeot 107 and Kia Picanto, Suzuki model has a lower fuel consumption and a cheaper price.

Frame
The front suspension is of MacPherson strut type, and its chassis is complemented by further strengthening in the assembly areas for superior handling props.

The rear suspension design has a 3-link rigid axle. The rigidity of the mounting points of the sidebar is complemented by a greater length of the bar to get a high-rigidity suspension. Mounting points of the swing arms are reinforced for stability and response at high speeds.

The front brakes are disc, while the rear are drums. In addition, the Suzuki Alto is equipped with stability control and ABS with electronic brake distribution (EBD).

The tires have a measure of 14 inches, according to Suzuki, these are newly developed, combining the features of low energy loss of hard rubber with high grip features soft rubber so offer significant energy savings along with excellent performance in terms of handling and braking. A relatively high pressure of the tires allows the CO2 emissions of the new High are 1.7% lower than they would with a normal pressure.

The Suzuki Alto has a minimum turning radius of just 4.5m making it an easy to maneuver and park in confined areas.

Safety
According to Suzuki, the body is highly rigid and chassis is designed to dissipate energy on impact. The front safety belt pretensioners and force limiters equipped force.

Airbags front, side and curtain airbags reduce the severity of impacts suffered by occupants in a collision. The head is protected by incorporating additional fittings with materials that help absorb energy.

Regarding the safety of children, the rear seat includes amounts for two child seats fitted with ISOFIX.

The Suzuki Alto is sold in two finishes (GA and GL). GA finish incorporates the following standard: ABS, dual front airbags, ISOFIX anchorage, loudspeakers and radio antenna. For his part, finishing GL comes standard with the following: ABS, dual front airbags + Side, ISOFIX anchorage, speakers, antenna, electric front windows, central locking with remote control, air conditioning, radio CD + MP3.

suzuki swift 2011

Today Suzuki announced plans for a new production hub in India and along with expansion plans Suzuki also presents the new A-Star Concept, destined to become Suzuki’s new compact global car.
The A-Star will be shown to the public at the Ninth New Delhi Auto Show in January, but we can bring you some sketches of the compact car. The car will be produced in India and exported to Europe and beyond and will be Euro 5 compliant, which leads us to believe this may just be the new Suzuki Alto which is scheduled for a Geneva debut in March.
India is an important market for Suzuki, outselling Japan in the first half of 2007, and the Murati Suzuki partnership (Indian government and Suzuki) will be capable of producing 1 million units by 2010/2011.
